The Washington Redskins used their first round selection on Da’Ron Payne this past Thursday, selecting the big defensive tackle from Alabama. Payne is going to do a lot of good things for Washington, who has had issues with their defense for some time. Their last selection, or Mr. Irrelevant, was Trey Quinn from SMU, who was a very productive wide receiver for the Mustangs last season.

With their top pick in 2019, the Redskins should look to bring in another wideout a bit earlier. That player should be A.J. Brown, who is rated as the best wide receiver in this draft class. With Alex Smith under center, the Redskins have a liable quarterback, and he could do a lot of good things with a player like Brown on the outside.

The Redskins have a daunting task ahead of them next season, as they go into the summer as the worst team in the NFC East. However, they do have Smith, who has been one of the best regular season quarterbacks in the NFL since entering the league. They are going to win games next season, but without a lot of talent on the outside, it is going to be interesting to see how they manufacture points in a very tough division.
