Alabama. Jonah Williams. 8. player. 46. . Offensive Tackle

The Indianapolis Colts made the right pick on Thursday, drafting Notre Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson. The big guard was the best offensive lineman in the draft class, and will now be tasked with protecting star quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck did not play at all during the 2017 season due to injury, so bringing in bodies in front of him in the first round was the way to go in the 2018 NFL Draft.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Colts should repeat that process, but this time, bring in an anchor at left tackle. One player who should be available in the top-10 in Jonah Williams, who is a standout tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Williams will be tasked with protecting Luck’s blindside for the rest of the quarterback’s career, and he appears to have the skill set to do just that.

Indianapolis will win some games next season, but it will all depend on just how healthy Luck is. Many teams reached out to try to trade for Luck’s backup, Jacoby Brissett, but the team refused to move him. That says a lot about what the organization thinks in terms of Luck’s health, and while signs are pointing he will be back, you just never know when the injury involves the signal-caller’s throwing shoulder.
