Ottawa Senators: Mike Fisher

Husband of Carrie Underwood and decent hockey player Mike Fisher played 11 seasons with the Ottawa Senators before being traded to the Music City. In his time in Ottawa, he had several opportunities to grow his playoff beard, most notably in the 2006-07 postseason. That season, Fisher and the Senators made it to the Stanley Cup finals, losing to the Anaheim Ducks in five games.

Fisher’s Grammy award-winning wife, Underwood, has been quoted saying that while she likes Mike with some stubble, she is not a huge fan of the full-blown playoff beard. She joked that she would also stop shaving.

Mike Fisher has had a great NHL career. While providing a leadership presence, he’s scored 278 goals and assisted on 311 more before announcing his retirement after the 2016-17 season. That would be short lived, as he returned for another Cup run the following year. Rejoining his Nashville Predators midway through the 2017-18 season, Fisher is in the midst of gracing us all with another great playoff beard.
