Boston Bruins: Patrice Bergeron

The greatest two-way forward in NHL history is also the grower of one of the NHL’s best playoff beards. This was shown in full effect during the Boston Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup win. Bergeron’s ability to grow a thick, dark beard is on another level.

Bergeron is as decorated as hockey players come. He is a Stanley Cup champion, a member of the coveted “Triple Gold Club” (a player who has won an Olympic gold, a Stanley Cup and a World Championship) and a four-time Frank J. Selke Award winner, among a handful of other awards. He also has the ability to make everyone around him better.

This ability transfers to beard-growing. The 2011 Bruins were one of the best-looking bearded teams in history.

Here’s to hoping we get many more years of watching the brilliance that is Patrice Bergeron, along with his unique ability to grow a full-blown lumberjack beard in a matter of days. Bergeron is showing no signs of slowing down. He is coming off one of his best seasons productivity-wise in the 13 years he has been in the league and is playing on what many consider the best line in hockey.

It is worth noting that as the Bruins played in the Stanley Cup final against the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013, he grew this beard with a punctured lung, which may be irrelevant in this particular instance but should be brought up every chance possible.
