Sample Lineup with an Ace

P – Max Scherzer

C/1B – Matt Adams

2B – Matt Carpenter

3B – Jedd Gyorko

SS – Zack Cozart

OF – Ben Zobrist, Jose Pirela, Christian Yelich

Utility – Christian Villanueva

Scherzer is simply too hard to pass up on tonight for cash games. He’s in great form and the Pirates offense shouldn’t be much of a challenge for him. I’d be surprised if we don’t get at least six innings with eight or more strikeouts. From there, we take the cheap Matt Adams and he’s going to be super chalk. We then sang a couple Cardinals that should be able to produce against James Shields, a cheap option at shortstop with Cozart and we snag two lefty killers from the Padres. Zobrist at a very cheap price tag and Yelich round things out for a nice looking cash lineup.

Sample Lineup without an Ace

P – Tyson Ross

C/1B – Matt Adams

2B – Yoan Moncada

3B – Matt Chapman

SS – Xander Bogaerts

OF – Mike Trout, Kole Calhoun, Marcell Ozuna

Utility – Ryan Braun

There’s plenty of room for whatever bats you please if you leave the ace pitcher on the sidelines. Ross should be able to bounce back after his rough start in Colorado the last time. We’ll still take the savings of Adams and pair him with the cheap Calhoun and then spend up everywhere else. As always with these lineups, this would be a tournament only option. There’s also the option to just stack up one offense and punt elsewhere. The Astros might be the number one choice tonight. They get a lefty who is a fly ball heavy pitcher at that. Houston could score near 10 runs tonight.

Stacks To Consider – Astros(vs New York), Cardinals(at Chicago), Angels(vs Baltimore), A’s(at Seattle) and Brewers(at Cincinnati)
