Early Slate – Rangers at Indians

Rangers Probable Starter – Matt Moore, LHP

5.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP 6.04 K/9

Vs LHH – .385 average, .342 wOBA 50.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .297 average, .365 wOBA 48.0 hard contact rate

Normally this would be a spot where it would be every Indian in the pool and just stack away. Maybe it still ends up being that way because Matt Moore has been awful so far this year. He’s had exactly one good game this season and that came against the Tampa Bay Rays. Here’s the issue – the Indians have been flat out awful against lefties this year. It’s probably worth a shot in tournaments to stack up the Indians. I’m just not sure it’s a cash play because they’ve been so poor. The offense is better than they’ve shown and maybe Matt Moore will m=wake up the Cleveland bats.

Cleveland Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor

Secondary Options – Edwin Encarnacion, Yan Gomes, Jason Kipnis

Indians Probable Starter – Corey Kluber, RHP

2.18 ERA, 0.77 WHIP 9.33 K/9

Vs LHH – .129 average, .180 wOBA 27.9 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .193 average, .253 wOBA 36.8 hard contact rate

Kluber is obviously the top pitching option on the five game slate and with good reason. His strikeouts have come down from last year but he’s still dominating. He’s posted a quality start every time out so far. Kluber has serious splits when it comes to strikeout rate against the handedness of the batter he’s facing. His strikeout rate against lefties is over 30 percent while against righties it drops to 22 percent. Texas could roll out as many as five lefty bats today and even the righties don’t carry a high ceiling. Kluber almost feels like a must-play in cash today.

Rangers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Joey Gallo strictly as a GPP play

Home Run Pick –  Edwin Encarnacion
