2018 NBA Mock Draft: Knicks go big with Mo Bamba
Frazier appears once again on this list after a prolonged absence, based on the idea that it takes just one team infatuated with his length and athleticism to take a chance on him. The Sixers can afford a spot at the end of their bench to potentially develop a 3-and-D wing while they compete in the short term.
The junior recently announced he would hire an agent and stay in the 2018 draft, meaning eyes will be more closely following him through the NBA Draft Combine and at individual workouts. Aside from Mikal Bridges or Kevin Knox in the top half of the draft, Frazier may be team’s best chance to get their hands on perhaps the most valuable type of player in the game today.
Frazier shot 39 percent from 3 and 71 percent from the line, turning in an astounding uptick in efficiency as a shooter following two clunky years to start his college career. It allowed him to shoot up draft boards, making it not unreasonable that if he impresses from now until the draft, he could get taken in the first round.
Aside from Robert Covington, the Sixers don’t really have a guy who fits this mold. Playing Marco Belinelli heavy minutes in the playoffs have exposed Philly’s need for defensive depth, and it’s never a bad thing to search for another answer on the wing.
