Red Sox at Rangers

Red Sox Probable Starter – Rick Porcello, RHP

2.23 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 8.48 K/9

Vs LHH – .209 average, .232 wOBA and 28.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .191 average, .207 wOBA and 21.9 hard contact rate

If you’re not paying up for the one ace on the slate(more on him later), Porcello is going to have to be in the running for your top pitching option. He’s been extremely consistent so far this year and many of his metrics lineup similarly with his Cy Young season of 2016. I’m not saying he’s going to win the award, but he appears to be a very fantasy friendly pitcher right now. The Rangers offense went bonkers last night. I would be surprised if they did that again tonight. They are no better than average against righties.

Rangers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Joey Gallo in GPP’s(he hits sinkers well)

Secondary Options – I’m not picking on Porcello personally

Rangers Probable Starter – Bartolo Colon, RHP

.287 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 6.03 K/9

Vs LHH – .200 average, .211 wOBA and 34.1 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .219 average, .291 wOBA and 51.0 hard contact rate

Everyone loves Big Sexy Bartolo Colon but his good luck just isn’t going to last. You can’t tell me a 44 year old pitcher who throws under 88 MPH with his fastball can be successful in the majors. The Red Sox are going to rip him up tonight and I wouldn’t talk you out of any Red Sox bat. At the rate he’s hitting, fade Mookie Betts at your own risk. He’s locked in like few hitters are capable of.

Red Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Hanley Ramirez

Secondary Options – Mitch Moreland, Andrew Benintendi, Eduardo Nunez, Rafael Devers

Home Run Pick – Hanley Ramirez

Pirates at Brewers

Pirates Probable Starter – Nick Kingham, RHP

*All stats are from one start* 0.00 ERA, 0.14 WHIP and 11.57 K/9

Vs LHH – .000 average, .000 wOBA and 50.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .059 average, .052 wOBA and 44.1 hard contact rate

We have very little to go on regarding Kingham. He was lights out in his debut but it certainly wouldn’t be shocking if that was his best start of the season. There’s always been some weird voodoo when the Bucs play in Milwaukee. This is a dangerous offense and Kingham is only a leverage play if you’re feeling risky. I’m going to side with the Milwaukee bats if anything out of this game.

Brewers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Travis Shaw, Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain

Secondary Options – Ryan Braun, Domingo Santana

Brewers Probable Starter – Junior Guerra, RHP

0.82 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 8.59 K/9

Vs LHH – .114 average, .194 wOBA and 25.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .214 average, .280 wOBA and 35.5 hard contact rate

Guerra isn’t nearly as good a pitcher as he’s shown so far this season. He’s an average pitcher but the issue is after a hot start, the Pirates offense has settled into a tricky one to predict. Sometimes they look great, other times they look like they would struggle in T-ball. Any game that takes place in Miller Park has to be considered. It’s just a smart move to exercise some caution with the Bucco bats.

Pirates Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Francisco Cervelli, Starling Marte

Secondary Options – None

Home Run Pick – Lorenzo Cain
