The Washington Capitals host the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 5 of their second-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

On Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals by a final score of 3-1 in Game 4 of their second-round matchup. Yet another strong performance from Pittsburgh’s top lines was the central avenue through which the Penguins evened up the series, as Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel led their team to a much needed victory on home ice.

In Game 5, the Capitals must do everything in their power to shut down the dynamic force that Guentzel has been over the course of the postseason. The Penguins’ 23-year-old left winger not only leads all playoff performers in both goals and assists, but also serves as an early candidate for the Conn Smythe Trophy. Look for Barry Trotz’s men to nail their two-way matchups on Saturday night, as a win on home ice would place the Capitals in a favorbale position to slay their dragon.

For Pittsburgh, a victory at Capital One Arena would ultimately allow the ghosts of many a series past to be echoed once again. Stealing a game on the road is never an easy task, but the reward for endeavors of this nature is all but unmatched in the world of hockey, in that the series’ momentum would inevitably swing in the Penguins’ favor heading into Game 6. Since Phil Kessel has been something of a nonfactor in this round of the playoffs, could Saturday be the night in which he finally breaks out?
