Giants at Braves

Giants Probable Starter – Andrew Suarez, LHP

4.38 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 8.76 K/9

Vs LHH – .133 average, .165 wOBA and 36.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .222 average, .352 wOBA and 57.9 hard contact rate

The Braves stack may not have worked out for us yesterday but it’s awfully tempting to go right back to the well today. They draw a lefty who only has pitched 12.1 innings in his career and the young guns from the bRaves could have a big day. One player that I really want exposure to is Ozzie Albies. He’s just too good against lefties to not consider him for any format today. $4,700 does seem pricey for him but he’s legitimately one of the best hitters against lefties in 2018.

Braves Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Ozzie Albies, Kurt Suzuki, Ronald Acuna, Nick Markakis

Secondary Options – Freddie Freeman, Jose Bautista

Braves Probable Starter – Mike Soroka, RHP

1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 7.50 K/9

Vs LHH – .077 average, .068 wOBA and 33.3 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .500 average, .596 wOBA and 55.6 hard contact rate

Soroka is far too cheap to not have some exposure to today. He’s a prospect of pedigree and looked rock solid in his major league debut against the New York Mets. He racked up 40 points and could have a repeat performance today. The Giants have also put up 29 runs in the past three games and their due for the bats to be quiet. I almost want to use him in cash games since we could so much on offense, but we’ll see about that. Soroka likely isn’t safest for a cash game setting.

Twins at White Sox

Twins Probable Starter – Kyle Gibson

3.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 10.13 K/9

Vs LHH – .220 average, .274 wOBA and 37.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .203 average, .289 wOBA and 41.3 hard contact rate

I really can’t figure out Kyle Gibson. His metrics say he should likely be worse than he is and he’s been a reasonably good pitcher since the All-Star break last year. The price makes it worthwhile for a GPP setting but he may not have the upside people want. Having said that, Gibson had a 50 point fantasy performance in New York against the Yankees. The White Sox will be missing Yoan Moncada for at least the next nine days and their lineup isn’t nearly as good without him.

White Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Jose Abreu

White Sox Probable Starter – James Shields, RHP

5.35 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 4.84 K/9

Vs LHH – .237 average, .324 wOBA and 28.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .266 average, .321 wOBA and 38.6 hard contact rate

I will always target James Shields when he’s on the mound because he gives up an insane amount of home runs. What’s funny is his ERA and WHIP look poorly and he can’t strikeout anyone. Yet, his  HR/FB ratio is very low so far. He’s due to see more balls go into the seats sooner than later. The Twins have plenty of power to attack Shields and they’re one of the better stacks on the slate.

Twins Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Brian Dozier, Eduardo Escobar, Logan Morrison, Max Kepler, Eddie Rosario

Secondary Options – None

Home Run Pick – Max Kepler
