1. Aaron Donald – Los Angeles Rams

Most years, a player like Khalil Mack would easily be the top potential free agent. The presence of Aaron Donald isn’t a normal occurrence.

Simply put, Donald is the most complete defensive lineman in the NFL. He can dominate against the run and, of course, he can rush the passer. Getting the sort of production that Donald provides from the defensive tackle position is a luxury that most teams can’t even comprehend.

Given his importance to the Rams defense you would think the team would do everything they can to keep him in the fold. Unfortunately for Los Angeles fans, there are already warning signs about Donald’s future for the team. He held out of training camp last season looking for a new deal. The Rams made him at least one offer, but it was perceived as a low-ball offer by the talented defensive tackle.

Next: Rams need to pay Donald the money he deserves

If the Rams want to continue their upward trajectory towards a Super Bowl, they will do so on the back of Aaron Donald’s defensive talent. Letting him escape via free agency would be an epic mistake. Sean McVay needs to beseech the front office to make sure Donald gets the deal he deserves.
