6. Jadeveon Clowney – Houston Texans

J.J. Watt may be the darling of the Texans fanbase, but Jadeveon Clowney deserves some love too. He’s developed into an excellent edge rusher with or without his talented teammate on the other side.

In fairness, the Texans invested the No. 1 pick on Clowney back in 2014 so they should have high expectations for him. He struggled a bit early in his career, but he’s really come into his own as of late. Clowney played 16 games for the first time in his career last season and put up a solid return of 9.5 sacks.

To the Texans credit, they seem to understand what sort of talent they have in Clowney. They are working hard to re-sign him and it would be a pretty big surprise if he ever sees free agency. If he does, there will be a ton of teams interested in acquiring him to transform their pass rush.

Clowney might be a little overrated based on his college exploits, but he’s still a really good edge rusher in the NFL. That skill alone will easily get him big money from some team. The Texans certainly hope they keep him in the fold for years to come.
