FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Monday, May 7
Nationals at Padres
Nationals Probable Starter – Stephen Strasburg, RHP
3.47 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 10.14 K/9
Vs LHH – .227 average, .305 wOBA and 18.4 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .203 average, .263 wOBA and 34.8 hard contact rate
This is going to be short and sweet on this side of the ball. If you want to cash any 50/50 you play, just go ahead and lock in Strasburg in the pitching slot. He’s in a great spot because the Padres have the highest strikeout percentage against righties in baseball. Strasburg is the chalkiest play of the night and I won’t make the mistake of not playing him like I did Max Scherzer yesterday.
Padres Hitters to Target
Elite Options – None
Secondary Options – Eric Hosmer, Travis Janakowski
Padres Probable Starter – Tyson Ross, RHP
3.28 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 10.09 K/9
Vs LHH – .297 average, .342 wOBA and 39.1 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .146 average, .196 wOBA and 33.3 hard contact rate
Seeing Tyson Ross be productive this year is pretty surprising as he faced an uncertain future when he needed thoracic outlet surgery in 2016. At least by the splits, there’s really only two Nationals hitters we should think about tonight. It’s Bryce Harper and Matt Adams. Harper is always in play and seems to like hitting leadoff. Matt Adams is interesting but I just have a hard time paying so much for him. He’s near $4,000 and that’s elite hitter territory. Other than those two, I’m mostly off the Nationals tonight. Ross looks like he could be back to pre-surgery levels and that’s not someone I want to target.
Nationals Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Bryce Harper
Secondary Options – Matt Adams
Home Run Pick – Wilmer Difo
Sample Lineup
P – Stephen Strasburg
C/1B – James McCann
2B – Alen Hanson
3B – Alex Bregman
SS – Brandon Crawford
OF – Michael Conforto, Odubel Herrera, Leonys Martin
Utility – Nicholas Castellanos
Strasburg is 100 percent locked in for tonight so now we just need to build the offense around him. I want to pick on Matt Moore a bunch, so we have three Tigers isn the lineup. That could change if Castellanos is still sick tomorrow, but we’ll have plenty of notice on that one. From there, we get a couple of cheaper Giant bats. Sprinkle in Conforto, Herrera and Bregman and the lineup looks solid on paper.
Stacks to Consider – Tigers(at Texas), Phillies or Giants, Astros(at Oakland)
