FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 13, 2018
Cavaliers-Celtics (Series Tied 0-0)
In single game leagues, you select five players (one from each team). The MVP (scores a 2x multiplier), the Star (scores a 1.5x multiplier), the Pro (scores a 1.2x a multiplier) and two positionless players.
In a one game league, you have to identify players who are going to play. That means any starter is a good bet.
These two teams mets three time in the regular season. You can throw the first two games out the window as one was literally the first game of the season and the second
If you’re selecting LeBron James ($20,000), he should be your MVP. The game could be won or lost with who you select as your Star and Pro.
The Celtics have been very consistent at home, especially their top five guys. Terry Rozier ($15,000), Al Horford ($13,000), Jayson Tatum ($12,000), Marcus Smart ($11,500), and Jaylen Brown ($9,500) are all worthy additions. As far as best value goes, Brown is the guy. He’s back in the starting lineup and looked like his usual self I Game 5 against the Sixers. At his price, he should definitely be in your lineup.
Kevin Love ($13,000) is a guy I’m wary about. He regained his form in the second round, which is a big reason why the Cavaliers swept the Raptors. But he didn’t play well in two regular season games against Boston and the Celtics have the personnel to give him fits. He has. Higher ceiling than Horford, but I find Horford to be more reliable for Game 1.
The Cleveland role player remain a mystery chest. Kyle Korver ($9,000), J.R. Smith ($9,000) and George Hill ($8,500) could get you at least value or could be non-factors. Korver has been my preferred option all playoffs.
Jeff Green ($8,000) proved to be a valuable addition for most of the second round and his versatility could earn him more minutes in the Conference Finals. Jordan Clarkson ($6,500) was fantastic in the February game, but take him at your own risk. Marcus Morris ($10,000) will get his usual shots and opportunities. Aron Baynes ($6,500) and Tristan Thompson ($8,000) may struggle to fit in during this series. Baynes is the better option of the two.
As always, go with what you know in Game 1. That means LeBron and the top guys on Boston. You’ll most likely need a Cleveland role player to round out your lineup.
