1. David Perron

Nobody really knows what is going to happen with the Vegas Golden Knights after their miracle run this season.

A team that was destined for the bottom is now in the Western Conference Final. Big jump, right? That’s very true, especially since Vegas seemed to trade for picks and prospects early on in their tenure.

If the story has a happy ending with a Stanley Cup, do the Knights clear house? Do they go back into the direction of draft and development? Yet again, nobody really knows.

What is known is that the Knights have a lot of UFA free agents heading into the summer. James Neal, Jason Garrison and David Perron are just a few who would need a contract before they go exploring in July.

Perron will definitely be the best option to come from that list. Neal will surely demand good money, and there are better defensive options than Garrison.

Another winger who can move up and down the lineup for Arizona can’t be a bad thing, especially with the way Perron has produced over the years. The now 29-year-old always manages to average around 50 points in a season when he plays over 50 games.

The former St. Louis Blue is a depth winger who can keep pace with the current flow of the game. Speed and scoring ability are both under the list of Perron, and both capabilities have surely been displayed with Vegas this season.

Arizona are the kind of team right now that need scoring to make up for any defensive lapses. Adding Perron to scoring threats like Stepan, Clayton Keller, Max Domi and Ekman-Larsson will do a world of good for the team of the desert.

Asking for near $4 million is probably fair for a player like Perron. In the end, however, it might be worth it for both the player and the Arizona Coyotes.
