Jay Leno shares why he doesn’t envy the late night host’s in today’s “nasty” climate. These days the icon and car enthusiast is keeping busy with a comedy tour, Jay Leno’s Garage and a long-running Hot Wheels partnership.

It has been over four years since Jay Leno last graced late night television in his final taping of The Tonight Show on February 6, 2014. Even though we may not see him on a nightly basis anymore, that doesn’t mean the funny man is planning on slowing down anytime soon.

These days you can find Leno continuing his stand-up comedy tour all across the United States and into parts of Canada, where the comedian boasts an average of 200 shows per year.

The well-known car enthusiast also stars in his own show which airs on CNBC entailed Jay Leno’s Garage. The show features just that— Jay’s garage and highlights the nearly 300 vehicles (between automobiles and motorcycles) that he owns.

In addition, Leno still makes the occasional late night guest appearance on a variety of networks but notes he does not miss having his late night show in today’s political climate.

“I loved it when I did it, it was great fun, but you know at some point you’ve got to move on”. Leno shared with FanSided. Leno added, “It was great you know, but I don’t miss it. I did it when it was a little easier, now its kind of nasty out there. If you don’t agree with the host’s political views, than you don’t watch the show.”

Something you may not have known about Leno is his longtime partnership with Hot Wheels.

“I’m flattered that they come to my garage looking for inspiration.” Leno shared on how the two have been working together for over 20 years. “They first made a couple of my cars Hot Wheels cars and I thought that was really an honor.”

Leno most recently helped the company kick off their 50th anniversary Legends Tour in late April.
