Reds at Giants

Reds Probable Starter – Sal Romano, RHP

3.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 5.53 K/9

Vs LHH – .253 average, .340 wOBA and 30.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .214 average, .290 wOBA and 32.4 hard contact rate

Honestly, this game is going to be fairly easy. It’s in AT&T Park, which is notorious for being a pitcher’s park. The interest in hitters is going to be fairly limited but I also don’t have that much love for either starting pitcher. Roman is coming off one of the best starts of his career, posting 40 points on FanDuel. I’m not buying him suddenly being all that good and if there’s one hitter from the Giants that I might take a run at, it’s Brandon Belt. Romano gets hit worse by lefty bats. Spending $3,600 on Belt seems like something that I likely won’t do.

Giants Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Brandon Belt, Gregor Blanco

Giants Probable Starter – Chris Stratton, RHP

4.60 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 8.37 K/9

Vs LHH – .213 average, .311 wOBA and 38.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .239 average, .317 wOBA and 49.0 hard contact rate

Stratton is certainly nothing special and this would be a spot where the righties would actually not be a bad play…if they weren’t sitting at their normal price. Don’t get me wrong, a player like Eugenio Suarez could go yard. I’m not paying $4,000 for him in San Francisco on an eight game slate. Players like Scooter Gennett and Adam Duvall are also too expensive for the game factors. Even though Joey Votto might be my baseball homeboy, I can’t pay $4,100 for him. This might wind up being one of the lowest owned games of the night.

Sample Lineup

P – Carlos Carrasco

C/1B – Wilson Ramos

2B – Jose Pirela

3B – Christian Villanueva

SS – Brandon Crawford

OF – J.D. Martinez, David Peralta, Denard Span

Utility – Jose Ramirez

At least for cash games, I suspect that Carrasco might be the chalk and it might be best to just eat it. Starting pitcher seemingly is going to carry plenty of risk tonight. Jose Ramirez is locked in, even when I toy with different constructions today, he will not move. Since he’s locked in, we’ll take a couple cheap Rays to start to counter balance things. Span actually is hitting lefties way better than righties this year and that’s the kind o play that could really make a difference. We have our two lefty killers for the Padres as they’re dirt cheap. Peralta is at a great price given his matchup. I’m not in love with Crawford because shortstop is kind of tough tonight. I wanted to make room for J.D. Martinez, but I could go back to Francisco Lindor at short and a cheap outfielder to replace Martinez.

Stacks to Consider – Indians(at Detroit), Rays(at Kansas City), Astros(at Los Angeles), Mariners(at Minnesota)
