Cavaliers-Celtics (Celtics Lead 1-0)

With only one game on the schedule, your top option is FanDuel’s Single Game Boost. In single game leagues, you select five players (one from each team). The MVP (scores a 2x multiplier), the Star (scores a 1.5x multiplier), the Pro (scores a 1.2x a multiplier) and two positionless players.

In a one game league, you have to identify players who are going to play. That means any starter is a good bet.

LeBron James ($20,000) will be better in Game 2. No one on the Cavaliers had it going in Game 1 and just about everything they do offensively starts with him. But after Game 1, with his high salary, you are taking a bit of a risk if he under-delivers again. Still, it’s LeBron. You can rarely go wrong with him and expecting him to have back-to-back bad games doesn’t seem likely.

Kevin Love ($14,000) was back around his average in Game 1. He’ll be hit-and-miss in this series and there’s just more value below him. Specifically, Al Horford ($14,000). Horford is more reliable with a higher ceiling, especially at home.

The Celtics have plenty of value on their home floor. Again, the Cavaliers will be better in Game 2. They won’t miss as many shots, leading to less rebounding opportunities for Boston. But their defense has been a problem all season and Indiana missing good looks and the Raptors being the Raptors doesn’t change that.

Jayson Tatum ($13,000), Jaylen Brown ($12,500), and Terry Rozier ($12,000) are still going to get buckets. It was Tatum and Brown carrying the scoring load in Game 1. It could just as easily be Rozier in Game 2. I’ve been a huge fan of Brown, but Tatum has turned into a reliable option and Rozier might have the highest ceiling.

Marcus Morris ($10,500) and Marcus Smart ($10,000) have been reliable value plays and will continue to play a big role in the series.

Finding value on Cleveland is the thought part. George Hill ($9,000), J.R. Smith ($8,000), Jeff Green ($8,000) and Kyle Korver ($7,500) offered very little in Game 1. Korver is still my favorite option because he chips in with more than just shooting and is still the best shooter of the four.

Aron Baynes ($8,000) and Tristan Thompson ($8,000) provided good value in Game 1. The Cavaliers will likely play Thompson a bit more to give them size and strength against Horford. That will lead to more minutes for Baynes. Jordan Clarkson ($7,000) found success in Game 1, but if he’s playing a contributing role, something has gone wrong in Cleveland once again.
