FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Tuesday, May 15
Blue Jays at Mets
Blue Jays Probable Starter – Jaime Garcia, LHP
5.40 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 9.00 K/9
Vs LHH – .256 average, .396 wOBA, 42.9 fly ball rate and 43.3 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .276 average, .386 wOBA, 41.7 fly ball rate and 40.3 hard contact rate
This may seem totally off the wall but Garcia is actually not that bad of a play by the numbers. No, he’s not a good pitcher anymore. The Mets are also putrid against lefty pitching this season. They rank third in strikeout rate, last in average, last in OPS, last in ISO and last in wOBA. If you don’t take a stab with Garcia(wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t), I wouldn’t be stacking up the Mets. The best Mets plays might be Asdrubal Cabrera and Amed Rosario, who both hits lefties well.
Mets Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Amed Rosario as a punt option
Secondary Options – Asdrubal Cabrera, Yoenis Cespedes
Mets Probable Starter – Noah Syndergaard, RHP
3.09 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 10.21 K/9
Vs LHH – .270 average, .311 wOBA, 28.1 fly ball rate and 26.6 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .234 average, .289 wOBA, 29.2 fly ball rate and 23.1 hard contact rate
Syndergaard might be one of the safest pitching options on the board, even if he hasn’t had too many ceiling games so far. All of his career numbers are in line with his career normals and while he might be relatively safe, there is some risk there. The Blue Jays hit for power against righties but they also strikeout a ton. I’ll tend to side with Syndergaard at home and won’t be targeting too many hitters against him. Kevin Pillar might be one of the more interesting options because Syndergaard is really poor at holding runners. Pillar could steal multiple bases.
Blue Jays Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Kevin Pillar
Secondary Options – Josh Donaldson, Teoscar Hernandez, Curtis Granderson
Home Run Pick – Asdrubal Cabrera
Indians at Tigers
Indians Probable Starter – Josh Tomlin, RHP
8.06 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 4.91 K/9
Vs LHH – .400 average, .514 wOBA, 42.0 fly ball percent and 46.0 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .286 average, .422 wOBA, 55.6 fly ball rate and 42.6 hard contact rate
I wonder how high the ownership will be on the Tigers tonight since they really don’t have a lot of good offensive players. Hopefully Nicholas Castellanos is back in the Detroit lineup because he would be a great option this evening. The lineup is a walking wounded unit right now and JaCoby Jones has the highest wOBA against right handed pitchers as of now. Niko Goodrum had a monster day yesterday and should be a solid play again tonight. One of the easiest ways to afford the highest salaried pitcher tonight is to snag two or three Tigers in your lineup tonight.
Tigers Hitters to Target
Elite Options – JaCoby Jones, Nicholas Castellanos
Secondary Options – Niko Goodrum, Victor Martinez, John Hicks
Tigers Probable Starter – Francisco Liriano, LHP
3.35 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 6.47 K/9
Vs LHH – .081 average, .147 wOBA, 41.7 fly ball rate and 16.7 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .238 average, .333 wOBA, 34.1 fly ball rate and 31.8 hard contact rate
The most attractive part of this side of the game is definitely that Cleveland Indians offense. Liriano has some slight potential because he can strike players out when things are going right. He can also be very wild at times and the Indians offense can wait things out and take some walks. It’s the usual suspects for Cleveland tonight as Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor lead the charge. I don’t think I’ll have a ton of exposure to the Indians tonight but that also be me still being annoyed they left me in the lurch last night. Yan Gomes would also be interesting if he fits in your lineup and if you’re really desperate, Brandon Guyer can fit in nicely as a cheap option.
Indians Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor
Secondary Options – Brandon Guyer, Yan Gomes, Edwin Encarnacion
Home Run Pick – JaCoby Jones
