Justin Bieber and Filip Forsberg: “Did we just become best friends?”
Justin Bieber and Filip Forsberg exchanged pleasantries on Instagram last week. Don’t be surprised if these two new friends are spotted hanging out in Smashville next season.
“Did we just become best friends? Yup! Want to go do karate in the garage? Yup!”
Avid hockey fan and world-renown pop sensation Justin Bieber Instagrammed some high praise for Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg after his ridiculous between-the-legs goal in Game 6 of their series with the Winnipeg Jets.
The Nashville Predators Twitter account tweeted the interaction today (along with a clever Bieber song quote. Props):
It’s no surprise that Bieber has been keeping up with the NHL playoffs. The Canadian superstar is both a long-time fan and player of the game. Despite the fame and busy schedule, JB still laces up the skates in his down time (Who could forget this hilarious picture of Bieber getting slammed into the boards by NHL hall of fame defenseman, Chris Pronger).
Justin Bieber is spot on with his analysis of Forsberg, who is one of the league’s top young forwards. He is fun to watch and this goal was sick, assuming he was referring to this beauty by Forsberg in the Jets vs. Predators series:
Don’t be surprised if Bieber takes some time out of his schedule to attend a few Nashville Predators games next season. But don’t get too excited Smashville, JB is a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan:
Forsberg was nothing short of incredible in this post-season with the Predators. He racked-up 16 points in 13 games, including seven highlight-reel goals that each seemed to one-up the previous. There’s no doubt Biebs will get the chance to see more of Forsberg’s magic in the next few years.
As for JB; Say what you will about the pop superstar, but his music lately has been, as the kids say, straight fire. Perhaps he will get Forsberg into one of the many Nashville recording studios as a feature on a new track.
(Given that the video of Forsberg singing ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” has been completely wiped from the internet, maybe he won’t.)
Before you know it, these two will be talking about velociraptors and John Stamos while flipping through the pages of Good Housekeeping.
