Sample Lineup with an Ace

P – Jacob deGrom

C/1B – Mitch Moreland

2B – Jed Lowrie

3B – Eduardo Escobar

SS – Tim Anderson

OF – Max Kepler, Travis Jankowski, Khris Davis

Utility – Yoan Moncada

As much as I want Scherzer, It’s harder to build an offense that I’m really in love with when he eats that much salary. He’s not a bad play by any stretch and I can’t blame you if you find the money for him. I still might. We’ll need to monitor any word on deGrom through the day. I absolutely love Morland and the we pair a couple bats from Oakland, Minnesota and the White Sox as our main lineup. I usually won’t target Moncada against a lefty but I’m making an exception with Matt Moor pitching.

Sample Lineup without an Ace

P – Tyson Ross

C/1B – Mitch Moreland

2B – Jed Lowrie

3B – Danny Valencia

SS – Tim Anderson

OF – Ian Happ, Albert Almora, Mookie Betts( I want to start yelling “Mookie Betts, bay-bay!” after I roster him like NXT wrestler Adam Cole does when he comes to the ring)

Utility – Eric Hosmer

We still have a lot of the basics here between the two lineups an I’m perfectly fine with that even on a big slate. While you should listen to plenty of analysis that you respect, there comes a point where you have to plant your flag and make a choice. I think Moreland, Lowrie and Anderson are going to be my three core guys no matter what. Khris Davis is right on the edge and he might make a fourth core player as the day wears on.

Stacks to Consider – Padres(at Pittsburgh), Red Sox or Orioles, Cubs(at Cincinnati), White Sox(vs Texas) and Braves(vs Miami)
