Will Lacey Baker be competing in women’s skateboard street event at the X Games in Norway this weekend?

If you haven’t heard the name Lacey Baker, I don’t think you can call yourself a skateboard fan. Baker is one of the most well-known female skaters in the scene today and was even dubbed the “Rebel Queen of Skateboarding” by Rolling Stone Magazine. So there’s no wonder that fans would be interested if she was competing at the X Games Norway this year.

Well, you’re in luck! She is.

Baker will join Leticia Bufoni (BRA), Samarria Brevard (USA), Julia Brueckler (AUT), Mariah Duran (USA), Pamela Rosa (BRA), Candy Jacobs (NED), and Alexis Sablone (USA) as one of eight female skaters who will competing in the women’s skateboard street competition this weekend.

The X Games take place Friday, May 18 through Sunday, May 20 and feature skateboarding, snowboarding and skiing.

Baker will compete on Friday, shortly after the men’s elimination rounds for the same sport.

Baker hit the scene with a bang when she became the youngest athlete to win a medal at the X Games. At just 14-years-old Baker took home the silver medal. She has competed in a whopping 10 X Games and walked away with a gold medal, three silver medals, and two bronze.

She is known for her shaved head and androgynous style which she equates to fighting a patriarchal society — a cause that is near and dear to her. She was also recently accepted onto Nike’s SB team marking her as the first openly queer athlete to join. She is also angling to make the first-ever Team USA skateboard team for the 2020 Olympics.

She will be joined by fellow American skaters Samarria Brevard, Mariah Duran, and Alexis Sablone who all hope to place alongside their stand-out teammate.
