Rockets-Warriors (Series Tied 1-1)

With only one game on the schedule, your top DraftKings option is Showdown. If you’re unfamiliar with Showdown, it’s a one game league where you have six spots, positions don’t matter, salaries are inflated from your typical leagues, and you have to select at least one player from each team.

Not much separates James Harden ($13,500), Kevin Durant ($13,300), Steph Curry ($12,600), and Chris Paul ($12,000). They’re all delivering in order of salary thus far and nothing from the first two games says that will change.

At some point, Curry will get hot. Unless he doesn’t. The Rockets have been physical with him, which could explain some of his shooting struggles. He’s still contributing with rebounds and assists. He’ll continue to get shots and it just seems foolish to think the ball won’t go in for him in the next couple of games.

There are few mysteries with Harden and Paul. Harden still has the higher ceiling and more likely to deliver a big game, but Paul remains a strong second option with a chance to go off. Durant is the interesting case because scoring hasn’t been an issue, but he’s doing little else.

Draymond Green ($11,700) was disappointing in Game 2, but expect a bounce back performance from him. With the Warriors at home and likely to make the better adjustments, Green may have more value than Paul.

Clint Capela ($9,500) was a non-factor in Game 2. He proved his value in Game 1, but he’s still very reliant on defense to make up for his lack of offensive value. Proceed with caution and trust Klay Thompson ($9,200) shoots much better in Game 3.

Eric Gordon ($7,800) had a monster Game 2 and has been solid enough on the road during the postseason. He remains hit-and-miss, but has a high ceiling and is the strongest value player of the bunch.

P.J. Tucker ($6,900) and Trevor Ariza ($5,000) also delivered in Game 2. However, expecting them to shoot the lights out again seems way too hopeful. Tucker has been the better option all playoffs, but Ariza works if you want to save nearly $2,000 to spend on the higher salary guys.

Expect Andre Iguodala ($5,800) to be better in Game 2. He remains the best role player option on the Warriors. I’ll continue to trumpet Kevin Looney ($4,100), especially now that the series is in Golden State. Nick Young ($3,300) keeps doing things, which is nice.
