3. Kansas Speedway

You’re probably sensing a pattern here, and that’s not a mistake. Kansas Speedway is yet another of the very similar 1.5-mile tracks that the Cup Series visits, and there’s not much about it to distinguish it from its brethren. Here’s an honest question: If you can’t see the words on the walls or in the stands, can you really tell Kansas from Chicagoland from Kentucky? Probably not.

The intrigue in the recent KC Masterpiece 400 at the track primarily came from pit road penalties and watching drivers like Kyle Larson try to race their way from the rear of the field into the top 10. That really shouldn’t be the case, and while the configuration and banking aren’t exactly the same as Charlotte, they are close enough to provide some hope that the All-Star rules package would make things immediately more interesting.
