FanDuel Picks and Lineup for Tuesday, May 22
Rockies at Dodgers
Rockies Probable Starter – Chad Bettis, RHP
3.27 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 15.8 strikeout rate
Vs LHH – .221 average, .293 wOBA, 28.4 fly ball rate and 34.3 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .243 average, .311 wOBA, 33.7 fly ball rate and 35.4 hard contact rate
I just can’t get on board with using Bettis, even though he’s way better away from Coors Field. I don’t want a lot of Dodgers because Bettis could surprise me and throw a solid game. He doesn’t give up a bunch of fly balls and the Dodgers have been really hit or miss so far. Justin Turner does help the Dodgers offense now that he’s back but this game as a whole isn’t terrific for fantasy purposes.
Dodgers Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Justin Turner
Secondary Options – Yasmani Grandal, Matt Kemp, Yasiel Puig
Dodgers Probable Starter – To be announced
The Dodgers have yet to announce a starter for tonight so stay tuned to my Twitter to get a breakdown when it becomes official. I likely won’t stray too far from the big names for the Rockies tonight no matter who the starter is.
Rockies Hitters to Target
Elite Options – TBA
Secondary Options – TBA
Home Run Pick – Yasmani Grandal
Sample Lineup with an Ace
P – Gerrit Cole
C/1B – Matt Olson
2B – Josh Harrison
3B – Jake Lamb
SS – Jedd Gyorko
OF – Dustin Fowler, Austin Meadows, Juan Soto
Utility – Travis Shaw
Cole is going to limit some choices on offense but he should be well worth the high price tag. Olson is in a phenomenal matchup against Mike Leake, and the same thing goes for Dustin Fowler. We’ll take a piece of the Pirates offense, Jake Lamb is way too cheap given his matchup, and we’ll take the youngster Juan Soto.
Since he showed up last night, he’s likely to ghost me tonight just to troll me. He’s just too cheap. We’ll finish off with Shaw, who should be able to leave the yard gain tonight.
Sample Lineup without an Ace
P – Caleb Smith
C/1B – Joey Votto
2B – Jed Lowrie
3B – Travis Shaw
SS – Carlos Correa
OF- George Springer, Tyler O’Neil, Juan Soto
Utility – Christian Yelich
Smith remains one of my favorite pitchers of the night and that opens up a lot of salary. Votto is in a glorious spot tonight and so is Jed Lowrie. I’ll take a couple of Brewers lefties is Yelich and Shaw. After that, we’ll take a mini Astros stack and then finish off with a couple cheap plays in the outfield. This lineup is definitely tournament only.
Stacks to Consider – Pirates(at Cincinnati), Nationals(vs San Diego), Red Sox(at Tampa), Brewers(vs Arizona), Cardinals(vs Kansas City) and A’s(vs Seattle)
