FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Saturday, May 26
Orioles at Rays
Orioles Probable Starter – Andrew Cashner, RHP
4.72 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 20.2 strikeout rate
Vs LHH – .268 average, .381 wOBA, 49.4 fly ball rate and 31.3 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .271 average, .351 wOBA, 32.2 fly ball rate and 37.1 hard contact rate
I wish the Rays offense had more to offer because Cashner isn’t that good of a pitcher. After they traded outfielder Denard Span yesterday, Brad Miller should see another game near the top of the lineup. He’s not spectacular bu the’s fine at his price. For Tampa, hitters with power or speed aren’t the easiest to find. The other options could include Wilson Ramos and Mallex Smith. Cashner might not be good but his fly ball rate may not hurt him in Tropicana Field. He’s not the worst GPP play. Just know that with Cashner, things could get ugly in a hurry.
Rays Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Brad Miller, Wilson Ramos
Secondary Options – Mallex Smith, C.J. Cron
Rays Probable Starter – Ryne Stanek, RHP
The starter for this game is name only as Stanek won’t last too long. The best bet is Anthony Banda to pitch as far as he can go. Ryan Yarbrough went seven innings last night so he’s not going to be available. He’s a lefty so that means there could be some pretty solid options from the Orioles lineup. It’s certainly riskier than normal game because we’re just not sure of the matchup. If it is Banda, players like Trey Mancini and Danny Valencia are pretty solid options, not to mention Adam Jones. You just have to understand the amount of risk you take when playing Baltimore bats today.
Orioles Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Manny Machado, Danny Valencia
Secondary Options – Trey Mancini, Jonathan Schoop
Home Run Pick – Manny Machado keeps close to Mookie Betts and Mike Trout
Sample Lineup
P- Jack Flaherty
C/1B – James McCann
2B – Jose Rondon
3B – Jake Lamb
SS – Tim Anderson
OF – Brandon Nimmo, Lorenzo Cain, Nicholas Castellanos
Utility – Jesus Aguilar
At least for now, I’m going to side with Flaherty just because of the money it saves me over Nola. McCann is priced as a punt despite his great matchup and Rondon is kind of the last man in on this lineup. Lamb should always be more expensive when facing a righty and I’ll keep on playing him at this price. Time Anderson is a slim dunk against a lefty so cheap. Lastly, we take a nice chunk of the Brewers and Mets tilt and then finish things off with Castellanos.
Next: Every MLB team’s Mount Rushmore
The Core – Nicholas Castellanos, Lorenzo Cain, Jake Lamb
Stacks to Consider – Brewers(vs Mets), Tigers(vs White Sox), Rangers(vs Kansas City) and Nationals(at Miami)
