21. Florida (Blue)

When the Florida Gators break out the blue uniforms, they mean business. The blue uniforms have been a staple of games at the Swamp for decades. Under Jim McElwain, the seniors were allowed to choose the uniform combinations for most games, so the blue jersey with white pants became less common at home. However, as former Mississippi State coach and Urban Meyer assistant Dan Muller takes the reigns at Florida, it’s likely fans will see the traditional uniform combination return sooner than later.

The traditional aspect of the blue uniforms — dating back to Steve Spurrier’s Florida coaching days — has landed them a spot on this list. As well as the professional look. When analyzing the uniforms, the royal blue looks incredibly sharp as a majority color. While it’s easy to become an eyesore and a bit overwhelming at times when the Gators wear them with blue pants, they look fantastic with the white pants. Having the SEC logo at the base of the collar also allows for a larger gator logo, which isn’t displayed at mid-field as often as it used to be. The white number with orange outlining ties directly into the stripes on the shoulder, which shows one white line in the middle surrounded by two orange lines.

While it is a little touch, the orange lines on the shoulder go hand-in-hand with the traditional orange helmets. In addition, having the orange on the shoulder lets the Gators represent the Swamp on their uniforms. It’s not a direct reason the lines are present, but it can symbolize the internal orange throughout Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. As anybody who has witnessed a Florida game at the Swamp will tell you, the crowd is behind the Gators at all times as it’s one of the hardest places to play. The Gators wear that proudly on their sleeve.
