Phillies at Dodgers

Phillies Probable Starter – Zach Eflin, RHP

3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 26.1 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .267 average, .365 wOBA, 63.2 fly ball rate and 40.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .214 average, .247 wOBA, 35.0 fly ball rate and 26.8 hard contact rate

Eflin is another pitcher who has seen the regression monster come for him since he’s just not that great of a pitcher. Lefty hitters can get to him in a big way and that’s not a good thing for Eflin. The Dodgers have plenty of lefties to roll out there against him tonight. The fly ball rate should light your eyes up as well. Max Muncy could lead off at just $2,700 and would be in a great spot. Cody Bellinger, Yasmani Grandal and Joc Pederson are all in play tonight. I wouldn’t play righties against Eflin but you really don’t need to go there this evening.

Dodgers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger, Yasmani Grandal

Secondary Options – Max Muncy, Joc Pederson

Dodgers Probable Starter – Ross Stripling, RHP

1.74 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 29.6 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .250 average, .245 wOBA, 32.7 fly ball rate and 18.9 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .250 average, .301 wOBA, 32.1 fly ball rate and 29.8 hard contact rate

It may not be the most comfortable play with the amount of talent at the top of the slate, but Stripling is firmly in play this evening. If he was putting up these ratios with any type of track record, he’d be in the same price range as Ohtani and Paxton. I have no interest in Phillies hitters whatsoever and Stripling is way too cheap for his potential upside.

Phillies Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Odubel Herrera, Rhys Hoskins

SEATTLE, WA – MAY 3: Nelson Cruz #23 of the Seattle Mariners hits a three-run home run off of starting pitcher Sean Manaea #55 of the Oakland Athletics during the third inning of a game at Safeco Field on May 3, 2018 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by Stephen Brashear/Getty Images)

Sample Lineup

P – James Paxton

C/1B – Jonathan Lucroy

2B – Ozzie Albies

3B – Nolan Arenado

SS – Dansby Swanson

OF- Guillermo Heredia, Nelson Cruz, Dustin Fowler

Utility – Jean Segura

Man, it’s going to be a difficult day to build lineups. There’s a wealth of options and players that I really want. For now, we’re rolling with Paxton and his $2,000 lesser salary than Scherzer. A couple of cheap punts from Oakland help us pay for Albies, Arenado, Cruz and Segura. Those four players are my major targets and it’s hard to leave Trevor Story on the outside right now. I legitimately might just play Stripling and call it a day.

The Core – Nolan Arenado, Nelson Cruz, Ozzie Albies

Stacks to Consider – Braves(vs New York Mets), Mariners(vs Texas), Angels(at Detroit), Nationals(at Baltimore) and Rockies(vs San Francisco)
