Similar to what Matt Luke got with the Ole Miss Rebels, the head coach of the Baylor Bears in Matt Rhule was slotted into an extremely difficult situation in Waco, TX. Baylor had a lot of great years under former head coach Art Briles, which also leaves a ton of pressure on the shoulders of Rhule.

There was some interesting news that comes from both Rhule and Baylor last year that kept some extra focus on the program, including him apparently spending the night at his desk to find that first win of the season. That type of thing is something that both the program and the coaching staff can use to market this team.

Baylor is also doing a great job on the recruiting trail considering the underlying circumstances. Rhule even got some interest from the NFL during the off-season from teams that had big openings like the Indianapolis Colts.

One day, Rhule might find himself in the NFL, but we all feel like he’s bound to build Baylor back up into a respectable program at least first. That’s something admirable and respectable coming from Rhule himself. He’s done a good job with Baylor so far after coming over from his position with the Temple Owls.
