Hassan Whiteside’s alleged burner account goes private
Hassan Whiteside’s alleged burner account switches to private overnight amid the Colangelo scandal.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sherlock Holmes and NBA Twitter. If you’ve been living under a rock, you wouldn’t know what these three have to do with one another. They’re some of the best and most notorious detectives known to man. No, that isn’t a typo either — that does in fact say NBA Twitter. The notorious detectives of the internet made another basketball discovery related to burner accounts — involving Hassan Whiteside. This burner account situation is really — dare I say — heating up.
Amid the Bryan Colangelo burner account scandal, NBA Twitter is on high alert. Some have worked tirelessly for the last few days, connecting the dots in the biggest sports scandal to hit the internet in quite some time. However, thanks to the effort of some individuals on Reddit, a second scandal may be forthcoming. Apparently, an account which uses the same rhetoric as Whiteside switched to private. The account, @srt8___rich, used to hype up Whiteside’s play and now has closed itself off to non-followers. The account location says Miami, while the profile picture relates to him, as well. Whether this is an attempt to throw fans off or just Whiteside admitting it is not known. However, NBA Twitter is not easily fooled.

Despite not becoming a free agent until 2020, Whiteside is making it known he isn’t happy in Miami. He continues to show his displeasure with the team as he seeks for a trade. This alleged burner account may add fuel to the fire. However, switching to private seems like a good move given the circumstances. NBA Twitter will surely dig deeper within the next few days to find more out about this account and whoever is behind it.
