Seattle Seahawks: Dion Jordan vs. Marcus Smith vs. Rasheem Green

The Seattle Seahawks failed to make the playoffs last season, which was the first time in five years that they did not appear in the postseason. This offseason, the organization has been changing thing up a lot, getting rid of veterans like Richard Sherman, and a bunch of head coach Pete Carroll’s coaching staff.

Along the defensive line, there are a lot of new faces from the Legion of Boom front from 2017. While Frank Clark and his nine sacks from last season will certainly man one of the edges, there will be a nice battle this summer for which player will line up on the other side of the line.

Dion Jordan and Marcus Smith both played for San Francisco last season, and both will be in the mix for the starting spot in Seattle. However, the Seahawks also drafted Rasheem Green in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and some experts already have the youngster penciled in as the starter as we head to OTAs.

Green was the most dominant defensive lineman in the Pac-12 during his time at USC, and he already appeared to be ahead of the curve during the Seahawks rookie minicamp. There is no reason why he cannot jump both Jordan and Smith on the depth chart, even with their experience in the league.

The Seahawks were once the most dominant team in the NFC West, but teams like San Francisco and Los Angeles got a lot better this offseason. It could be a second year out of the playoffs for Seattle, but they do have Russell Wilson at quarterback, and you can never count them out as long as he is under center.
