5. Los Angeles Clippers

One of the more interesting comps that’s being tossed about for Porter Jr. at the next level is Danilo Gallinari. As such, it makes perfect sense that Porter Jr. would be an interesting target for the Clippers.

Clippers officials will hope that Porter Jr. is a more durable version of their current Italian forward. Gallinari only played 21 games for the team last season. That could cause Doc Rivers and company to shop for a replacement this summer.

Both players have excellent size for either forward spot and can really shoot the ball. Gallinari is more advanced as a playmaker than Porter Jr. right now, but that’s something that could come around for the young forward in time. Porter Jr. is certainly the better athlete at this stage in their respective careers.

Of course, if the Clippers want to scoop up Porter Jr. on draft night they’re going to have to make a deal. Unless his medicals come back with serious red flags, there’s no chance he will call down to the No. 12 selection. If Los Angeles is serious about drafting the versatile forward, they’ll likely need to package their two first round picks in a move up the board.
