NBA Draft 2018: 5 best fits for Michael Porter Jr.
1. Orlando Magic
If the Magic aren’t dead set on addressing their point guard problems with their first round pick then Porter Jr. could be the ideal selection. He’d give their frontcourt a real dose of skill to go alongside the athleticism of guys like Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac.
In a way, drafting Porter Jr. would give the team a chance to acquire the player they thought they were getting with Mario Hezonja. The Spaniard can safely be labelled a draft bust at this point. The Magic would love to see Porter Jr. succeed where Hezonja failed.
Adding Porter Jr. to the mix would give Orlando the ability to play some really interesting frountcourt lineups. It’s possible they could find a way to play Isaac, Gordon and Porter Jr. at the same time. That would be a nightmare small ball lineup for other teams to defend.
Next: 5 best fits for Jaren Jackson, Jr.
Orlando’s No. 6 selection likely represents the realistic back-end of where Porter Jr. might go in the draft. Sitting there and waiting for him to drop on draft night would represent a nervous wait for the Magic front office. If they really think he’s a future star, moving up a couple of spots would drastically increase their chances of drafting him.
