Los Angeles Rams — Derrick Morgan

This is it? The Rams boast the second-most cap space in the league at more than $60 million and all they’ll have to show for it is Derrick Morgan? Ok, relax.

Yes, L.A. looks like it will be flush with cash next offseason, expect it probably won’t be.

Aaron Donald can command quarterback money and could be pushing for something over $20 million per year. The Rams have to pay Brandin Cooks after giving up a first-round pick for him last season, and just like that, there goes half their money.

If they want to re-sign Ndamukong Suh, there goes half of what’s left. So why not bring in a solid pass rusher with experience in multiple schemes? Derrick Morgan won’t confuse anyone for Reggie White, but he’s a good player. Currently starting on the edge for the Rams: Matt Longacre and Samson Ebukam and no I didn’t secretly sub in Westworld character names.

Simply finding a legitimate NFL player to start outside would be a massive upgrade for the Rams.
