Green Bay Packers – Kevin King

The Green Bay Packers will head into the 2018 season with a young, revamped secondary that could soon establish itself as one of the best in the league. One player from that unit who could be headed to superstardom is 2017 second-round pick Kevin King.

The former Washington Husky possesses the type of rare size/speed combo that is coveted out of the cornerback position in today’s NFL game, and King will certainly see an increase in his snaps from a season ago. One only has to look at King’s outstanding Combine results to see just what kind of athlete the Packers have on their hands.

Despite all his athletic gifts, King has yet to turn in starting-caliber production on the field, ending last season on the IR due to a lingering shoulder issue. He seems to be optimistic about the progress of his recovery, but it’s certainly something that the team will need to monitor closely as the season progresses. If King is able to get a clean bill of health by the start of the season, he’s more than capable of flashing his immense potential.

After adding Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson to the mix, the Packers seem ready for their secondary to take a big leap forward in 2018 and it all starts with the improved play of Kevin King.
