5 best fits for Gareth Bale
By Harvey Cruz
1. Paris Saint-Germain
When you’re a club whose sole aim is to buy players specifically to win the Champions League, you’ll do whatever it takes to do so. For Paris Saint-Germain, that has been the goal ever since they became bored of winning Ligue 1 every year.
If Bale went to Paris, he would immediately bring something the club don’t have, Champions League pedigree. He’s been there, done that more than PSG ever have. It’s actually a deal worth trying, due to the flurry of rumors surrounding Neymar’s eventual exit. A swap deal is possible, but then again PSG are so rich they can simply pay any fee possible.
According to The Times, PSG may have to give up Kylian Mbappe in order to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. Giving up the young French prodigy would be a huge loss, and he would need to be replaced as soon as possible. Bringing in Bale would be important, even if it raises FFP warning signs.

For PSG, the mission statement remains to go far in the Champions League. Losing to Real Madrid in the round of 16 this year and Barcelona the previous year are major disappointments. It’s time to state a new signal of intent with new manager Thomas Tuchel in charge. Bale could put them over the edge.
