5 athletes we’d love to see grace the cover of EA Sports’ NHL 19

2. Dustin Byfuglien

Dustin Byfuglien would be the first cover athlete in history that could be on the covers of both NHL 19 and WWE at the same time.

During the Winnipeg Jets 2018 playoff run, Byfuglien patented the now-famous “double rag doll” move, in which he grabs two players by the collars and shakes them loose from a scrum. He did this not once, but twice in the playoffs.

I’d like to remind you that these are not children; these are professional athletes in the National Hockey League. This is a video of a grown man handling two other grown men as if they were toy dolls. And he does it not once, but twice, to two different teams.

Big Buff had himself a hell of a playoffs on the score sheet as well. He had five goals and 11 assists in 17 playoff games in 2018 to go along with 45 points in 69 regular season games.

The 33-year old monster is playing some of the best hockey of his career for these Winnipeg Jets that look poised to make another deep run next season. Don’t be surprised if you see more of Byfuglien bouncing the NHL scrums next season.

Byfuglien is one of the better and more well-liked players in the league and I can’t see anyone getting upset if he were legitimately given an NHL cover. All that we ask is that EA Sports use one of the two images of him holding his children back from the fighting.
