24. . F. Missouri. Michael Porter Jr.. 7. player

This one was relatively easy. The Chicago Bulls simply need more talent and Michael Porter Jr. was the most talented player available. If Trae Young or Mo Bamba was available, this might have gone differently. Actually, let me rephrase that, if Mo Bamba was available this would’ve gone differently.

The Bulls definitely need a center and at No. 7, Wendell Carter Jr. was the best center available. I have nothing against Wendell Carter Jr. In fact, if the Bulls drafted him, I’d be pretty happy. I think he’ll be a really, really, good NBA player. However, people seem to forget that Michael Porter Jr. was once thought of as a possible No. 1 overall pick. I know back injuries are serious, but assuming all his medical tests have good results, I can’t imagine the Bulls passing up on him.

If Trae Young had been available, it would’ve been a much harder choice.

The Bulls have Kris Dunn who had a solid second year but I’m not sold on his ability to be a point guard on a championship team — and that’s what I would be looking for if I was the Bulls.

Trae Young has that upside.

But, like I said, Young was off the board and I don’t think Collin Sexton is a good fit with the Bulls. So it really came down to choosing overall skill/upside over the bigger positional need.
