C. Texas. Mo Bamba. 5. player. 79.

There’s not a lot to dislike about the big man from Texas. Standing at 7-foot with an unbelievable 7-foot-10 wingspan, a lot of people are already fearing a Shawn Bradley reincarnation. Those are the people who have not paid attention to just how good this kid has the opportunity to be.

At his floor, Bamba looks to be nothing short of a menace above the rim on the defensive side of the ball. His shot blocking skills were on full display during his one season with the Longhorns and it is expected that those will have no problem transferring over to the NBA. When you talk about his ceiling, however, the opportunity for Bamba to be an excellent player on both ends of the court is definitely there.

He has been working hard on his outside shot, which already appears to be improving, and his perimeter defense is good with a chance to be great based on his agility despite his size. Either way, Bamba seems like a great player with a good chance at becoming a menace to the opposing team. Outside of that, it would be wrong if I didn’t mention the mentality and attitude that Bamba has brought throughout this drafting process. He is an intelligent, well-spoken kid who already shows that he can be coachable and that he wants to continue to improve. If that doesn’t sound like a kid to bet on then I don’t know what does. Mo Bamba will be a great fit in Coach Carlisle’s system and will be able to improve his game under one of the greatest to ever play it, Dirk Nowitzki. Bamba will be great with Dallas and vice versa.
