2. Be cool in free agency

As mentioned before, the Coyotes have had quite a bit of money laying around for a good amount of time. With a highly-touted free agency coming up, it’s best for Arizona to just stay back and play it cool during the duration of the opening day.

In other terms, don’t drop unnecessary money on an unnecessary player. Good talent is expected to hit the market this summer, but they’re going to demand a price. Plus, the Coyotes would most likely be looking at free agency as a chance to land some cheap, depth scoring options.

There’s great choices in David Perron and Daniel Winnik to provide the scoring touch from the lower lines of the team. Even Michael Cammalleri wouldn’t be a bad consideration especially if he were to take a pay cut as a result of his age.

The goal is more offensive depth rather than defensive players, especially if Arizona were to draft the likes of Bouchard in the upcoming selection process.

With more than 250 players available come the opening of July, there should be plenty of choices for the Coyotes’ management to look over. They can’t really go wrong considering the players that occupied depth positions this past season.
