3. 2017: NBA Finals vs. Golden State Warriors (lost series 4-1)

Series Averages: 33.6 points,12 rebounds, 10 assists, 56.1 FG%, 42.24 minutes

After bringing a title to Cleveland in 2016, the 2017 Cavs lost the third of four (so far) Finals matchups with the Warriors in five games.

LeBron’s stat line tells you pretty much everything you need to know about his individual performance.

The problem was Golden State adding one of the best scorers of all time in Kevin Durant to a team that won 73 games the season before while the Cavs added Richard Jefferson and Kyle Korver. Even with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love healthy, Cleveland had no answer for the 121 points per game the Warriors averaged in the finals.

The Cavs won Game 4 by 21 points and only lost Game 3 by five points. Golden State dominated the other three games, controlling the lead for the entire second half if not from wire to wire.

Best Game: Game 3 (Warriors 118 – Cavs 113)

LeBron had 39 points on 56 percent shooting, 11 boards, and 9 assists to keep the Cavs close but Golden State, led by KD’s 14 points, outscored Cleveland 29-19 in the fourth quarter to win game three.
