NBA Free Agency 2018: One reason LeBron James should sign with every team

Washington Wizards
Washington missed out in the Paul George sweepstakes a summer ago. The Wizards need to maximize John Wall’s prime, and snaring LeBron this summer would more than make up for that. In Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre, the Wizards have a readymade playoff core with plenty of scoring and playmaking threats. Porter, Oubre and Markieff Morris form a switchable defensive forward rotation, with Tomas Satoransky providing offensive utility off the bench. James would be the most overqualified gap-filler in the league and the piece that solidifies it all into a championship contender.
The Wizards likely wouldn’t be able to retain all of that depth, however, as adding James would almost certainly require slashing a key piece from the rotation. Some of the same fit concerns that might arise in Oklahoma City also could apply in Washingbron as well. Wall is a heavily ball-dominant point guard, in part due to his shaky 3-point shooting and need to occupy many of the same spaces on the floor. Wall, Beal and a supporting cast as proven tricky enough to balance. Would adding another star, even one as great as James, be putting one too many cooks in the kitchen?
Maybe, but for Washington that risk would be well worth taking.
