NBA Free Agency 2018: One reason LeBron James should sign with every team
By Ben Ladner
Los Angeles Clippers
As much as the Lakers have been forecast as a landing spot for LeBron, the Clippers might give him a better chance to win right away. They have a better, more seasoned supporting cast and coach, a more recent history of winning and the same allure of living in Los Angeles. James and Tobias Harris could form an interchangeable forward tandem with DeAndre Jordan adding an element of vertical spacing. Patrick Beverley and Avery Bradley — assuming both are on the team next year — are exactly the type of defensive-minded guards that would complement a playmaking forward like James.
Taking as a given the fact that LeBron and Austin Rivers would not get along, the Clippers would have to either convince Rivers to opt out of his $12.7 million player option or trade him when he opts in. For LeBron, even Doc would find a taker for his son (I think).
