DETROIT, MI – MARCH 9: Blake Griffin /

Detroit Pistons

In James and Blake Griffin the Pistons would have two of the best playmaking frontcourts in NBA history. The question would be whether Detroit would have enough shooting or supporting cast to get the most out of that duo. Andre Drummond continues to make strides as an all-around player, but his lack of shooting could become a larger issue playing with two forwards who seldom space the floor. How content would Drummond be as a third option? How peeved would Reggie Jackson be as a fourth? And how long would it take for Jackson and LeBron to start publicly feuding?

The signing of Dwane Casey could be an attraction or a deterrent, depending on how James views Casey and values coaching stability, something he didn’t have much of in Cleveland. Outside of Griffin (who still has his downsides) and Casey (ditto), Detroit is probably of little appeal to LeBron.
