4. Mario Hezonja and Alex Len

It’s not often that two former top-5 picks under the age of 25 are available as unrestricted free agents in the same year. Yet somehow, both Mario Hezonja and Alex Len find themselves in a rather large pool of young players who are looking for a new home come July.

Beginning with the Croatian, Hezonja was the Orlando Magic’s No. 5 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. He has been mostly a disappointment and Orlando has clearly given up on him, despite him putting up some impressive scoring totals in increased minutes at the end of the season.

For the Spurs, Hezonja would add some much needed offensive energy and his size and strength offers some versatility. Salary-wise, Hezonja may be an option even if Green and Gay opt-in considering the starting-bid for him will likely be the $5.4 million maximum Orlando can offer him after declining his team option last summer.

Like his Croatian counterpart, Alex Len was a top-five draft pick out of Europe by a relatively bad team. Upon entering the NBA, Len improved in each of his first three seasons with the Phoenix Suns, though his stats seem to have stagnated at around 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

For San Antonio, Len may be a relatively cheap option that Popovich and Gasol can help develop into a potential double-double machine. If not, he could also find comfort in serving as the teams new Rasho Nesterovic.
