Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

What we learned: There wasn’t much to learn from Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn except that this whole program was a waste of time for everyone involved, including those of us that had to watch this play out over the last month or so.

This match got off to a very slow start with Sami Zayn sliding in and sliding out of the ring way too many times, which only served to annoy me. I was wanting to get this match going as quickly as possible simply so it could get over, and drawing it out wasn’t any help. Once it did finally get going, Zayn did get some offense in so it didn’t turn out to be a complete squash. Don’t get me wrong, it essentially turned into that but at least Sami got a few shots in there.

But nobody watching could possibly believe that Zayn was going to win this match and as soon as Lashley caught him in mid-air and went on the offensive, it was over, even if that still took too long. After a few minutes of tossing Zayn around, Lashley hit the delayed suplex. And then another. And then another and it was thankfully over after about six-and-a-half minutes.

What’s next: This feud did nothing for Bobby Lashley and nothing for Sami Zayn and both just need to move on from this. Lashley got his revenge for what Zayn had done to him (whatever that was), and he needs something a little bigger if he wants to the big deal that he was supposed to be when he returned to WWE, perhaps something like a program with Baron Corbin or someone similar. I don’t know if he’s primed for a title just yet, but he’ll need something. As for Zayn, he looked bad throughout all of this and continues to look for his place without Kevin Owens next to him.
