Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Sasha Banks vs. Naomi vs. Becky Lynch vs. Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya vs. Lana

What we learned: I think we learned here that the women of WWE have this Ladder Match thing down. After having a couple of these matches last year, these eight women proved that they can be just as entertaining as the boys in this type of environment. They utilized the ladders way more than they did a year ago and this match was just so very smooth with everyone looking good at one point or another as this bout progressed.

Chicago was really wanting a Becky Lynch win here, and she came close a couple of times, but even in the loss, she looked stronger than she has in a while. She and Charlotte continuing to come across one another is great, and seeing Flair once again take on Sasha Banks was fun to watch as well given their long history. Sasha took some big bumps here and looked fantastic.

If you’re somehow not sold on Ember Moon yet, get your eyes checked. She’s been so impressive since being called up to the main roster and was one of the biggest stars in her Money in the Bank debut. I honestly thought Natalya would be a bigger factor here but she still got her spots in, as did Naomi. I enjoyed the chemistry, whether as a team or as opponents, between Naomi and Moon, which is part of the fun of a match like this.

The surprise of this match may have been Lana. I’ve got no problem admitting that I thought she’d be out of place coming in but she was a pleasant surprise. She’s still nowhere near the level of some of the women in this match, but she went out and proved that she’s getting better and took some hard shots here, so kudos to her for giving it her all.

The night, however, belonged to Alexa Bliss, who continues to prove that she is one of the best performers in the women’s division. She didn’t do as much as some of the others, but that fits her character perfectly. She took advantage when the others were down and grabbed the briefcase to become Ms. Money in the Bank.

What’s next: Well, this is normally where I would play out a scenario for Alexa to cash in her briefcase, but she didn’t hold that briefcase long at all, did she? We’ll obviously get into that in a few minutes. As for the others, I think everyone has momentum moving forward and it’s up to creative to keep this momentum rolling throughout the summer.
