4. Isaiah Crowell will rush for over 1,000 yards

There’s been a ton of attention on the Jets passing game this summer, but not many people are talking about the big change New York made at running back. Isaiah Crowell isn’t a big name, but the team did bring him in to replace Bilal Powell as their starter.

Crowell spent the first four years of his NFL career toiling in the Cleveland Browns backfield. He has to be elated at the opportunity to play for a team that will actually win games. Look for him to be rejuvenated to play for a different franchise.

It’s important to note that Crowell was reasonably productive for a pretty bad Browns offense. He rushed for 853 yards last season on over four yards per carry. There’s no reason to think he can’t improve that production behind this offensive line.

The Jets’ offense is going to need to run the football to take pressure off whoever the elect to be their starting quarterback. Crowell is a big, bruising back who plays better and better the more carries he gets. Look for him to have some absolute monster games this season for New York.

The only man who can stop Crowell from hitting the 1,000 yard mark is Powell. He was a decent back for the Jets last season. Crowell’s acquisition might be a tough blow for him, but this is business. The former Browns back is going to carry the load for the Jets this season.
