Russell Westbrook is throwing a NBA Free Agency party and Paul George has been invited.

Russell Westbrook is throwing a house party tonight and only 500 people are invited. I assume my invite is on it’s way. One man who already got his invite is Paul George. You know Paul George. Westbrook’s teammate in Oklahoma City, who just so happens to be a free agent when the clock strike midnight.

ESPN’s Royce Young reports that not only will George be in the house, but so to will multi-platinum recording artist Nas. No word yet if he’ll sign a contract to come off the bench for the Thunder this season.

The timing of what’s been dubbed “summer hype house party” is certainly curious. George opted out of his contract with the Thunder on Thursday, making him an unrestricted free agent on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers are the other team in the running for George’s services. It seems unlikely that George would ring in his free agency by partying with Westbrook, then turn around and sign with the Lakers days, or even hours, later.

George is currently filming the third part of his ESPN special My Journey, highlighting his free agency process. The third part will air after the small forward has made his announcement. A house party featuring Westbrook, Nas, and 500 other people “turning up” would certainly make for good television.

Of course, this is the Thunder franchise we’re talking about. Former players have said all the right things leading up to their decision, and the next thing you know, they’re dumping the franchise in a 500 word blog post. George turning up to this party, interrupting “Hate Me Now” and announcing he’s joining LeBron James in Los Angeles isn’t as farfetched as it may sound.
