5. Wayne Ellington

Wayne Ellington is coming off of a career-year in which he averaged 11.2 points per game and made the sixth-most 3-pointers in the league as the leader of the Heat’s second unit. He’s developed into as complete of a 3-point shooter as there is in the NBA with his ability to spot-up, run off of screens and score off of handoffs in volume.

With the Nick Young signing not panning out as expected, Ellington would be the perfect shooting guard to replace him in Golden State next season. The Warriors have even shown interest in Ellington in the past, going back to the 2015 offseason.

Ellington doesn’t do much more than shoot 3s — he had one of the highest 3-point attempt rates in the league this season — but the Warriors wouldn’t need him to do anything but space the floor for their four All-Stars and take some of the attention away from them by constantly being on the move in the halfcourt.

It helps that Ellington has come off the bench for most of his career and that he closed a number of games for the Heat this season, having finished behind only Josh Richardson, Goran Dragic and James Johnson in clutch minutes.
